County Kilkenny, in southeast Ireland, has 12th century history and heritage. Kilkenny city was a medieval capital and is known for its well-preserved castle, St. Canice's Cathedral and Kilkenny Design Centre. The county has a tradition of pottery and glass craftsmanship. The annual Kilkenny Arts Festival celebrates the area's cultural heritage.
