Service Description

Rome is the capital city and a special commune of Italy, as well as the capital of the Lazio region. It is the most populated city in Italy. Rome was founded in April of 753 BC. Rome was called the “Eternal City” by the ancient Romans. They believed that no matter what happened to the rest of the world, the city of Rome would always remain to stand. Rome has so much to offer: world-famous landmarks, breathtaking architecture, art, a warm climate, incredible food, and thousands of years of history. There is a saying about the city of Rome, “non basta una vita”, a lifetime is not enough. Rome abounds with iconic sites, but the Colosseum remains the city’s definitive landmark. The Roman amphitheater sits in the heart of downtown Rome. Our live, one-hour interactive virtual tour will begin in front of the impressive Colosseum or Flavian Amphitheatre, as it is also known. A site that since 1980 was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list and in 2007 was listed as one of the Seven Wonders of the modern world. This engineering marvel was commissioned by Emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty as a gift to the Roman people and was completed in 80 AD. During our tour, we will take a journey through 2,000 years. We will walk in the footsteps of the Caesars around the 50,000 seat Colosseum. We will feel the Imperial atmosphere while we hear stories and anecdotes about the largest Roman amphitheater in the world. Located near the main entrance, we will admire the imposing Arch of Constantine, which was erected in 315 AD. This well-preserved arch commemorates Constantine’s victory over Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge and was dedicated by the Senate to commemorate 10 years of his reign (306-337). Join us as we find out more about and explore the Colosseum. Our tour guide is a true Roman, born-and-bred, who graduated "cum laude" in Arts. He also holds a PhD in History from the University of Rome. He is looking forward to helping you fall in love with the Eternal City, as much as he does. $79 for each additional screen (does not apply to corporate customers.) * This tour is not designed for our corporate customers.
