Budapest, Hungary's capital, is actually two distinct districts separated by the River Danube. Buda is the hilly and wooded territory located on the west bank of the river and comprises about one-third of the territory. Buda Castle and Castle Hill are part of the Hungarian kings' palace complex of the 18th century. The palace was ransacked and ruined in WWII, but was rebuilt and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This capital city is centuries old and full of secrets, beautiful architecture, and a great place for a leisurely sightseeing experience. Our one-hour personal, live, virtual walking tour of the downtown Buda Castle District will begin with a stroll and discussion about the secret medieval passageways under the castle. The castle sits on a hill that is almost hollow underneath. It has caves, tunnel networks, and cellars. As a historian, our guide can tell you all about the reasons and uses for them all. Along the way, we will get to see traces of the Middle Ages and be introduced to the ancient Hungarian Kings. We will also be able to see some of the monuments from the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. All the while, our guide will be enriching the experience with her knowledge of this beautiful district and capital city. This city is rich with history, come experience it with a local historian. $66 for each additional screen * This tour is not designed for our corporate customers.
