Zadar, a city on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, is known for the Roman and Venetian ruins of its peninsular Old Town. On our tour, we will travel through time, and explore more than 3000 years of Zadar's history in a short time. Our one hour, live, interactive, personal, virtual walking tour will start at the newest installations of Zadar - Sea Organs and Greetings to the Sun. These installations are unique not only in Zadar and Croatia, but in the world! This is an award winning project where architecture and nature are perfectly connected. Would you like to know how Sea Organs produce the sound? Join our guide as she explains while that magic instrument of 75 meters long cascades. Do you know that they are always playing a different melody? You will never hear the same sound again! Next to it, we will find Greetings to the Sun - the great monument to the sun, also called a small hydropower plant with 300 solar glass panels. In the evening beautiful warm colors spill over them that will enchant you if you get to see them at night. We will walk along the Zadar promenade while leaving behind the sound of the Sea Organ and go back over 2000 years to the oldest part of the city - the ancient Forum, so called - museum in the open air. On the west side we will see stony remains where there was a capitolium with a roman temple, opposite, on the east side were tabernacles with nympheum. It is here that we can find a great pre-Romanesque monument from the 9th century - St Donatus church, which was made from remains of the ancient stone from the Roman temple. In the foundations of the church there can be seen fragments of ancient pillars, stone beams, capitals and many other architectural elements. Our tour will conclude at the Archaeological Museum whose building was made in the 70th of last century and is on the east side of Forum. Feel this city with a soul.
