It houses the heaviest building in the world - the Palace of the Parliament, a gargantuan concrete embodiment of communist-era might, was erected in the 1980s under the Ceaușescu regime. Green is everywhere, Bucharest is covered in parks. The Lipscani area, of Bucharest, the Old City, is a complex jumble of cobbled streets and is a backpacker hangout for young party-loving travelers, filled with wine bars, pubs, and hip restaurants. Join our Romanian tour guide on a live, interactive, virtual one-hour walking tour of Bucharest. The tour will begin in the Old City where we will discover its troubled history from medieval times to the present day. We'll explore the highlights of the capital also known as the "city of contrasts", including the Palace of Parliament.
