Service Description

Chicago is a bustling metropolis in the Midwest located on the shores of Lake Michigan in northeastern Illinois. Nicknamed the “Windy City”, Chicago has a continental climate with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Chicago’s landscape includes vibrant green parks, sandy beaches along the lakefront, and towering skyscrapers including the 110-story Willis Tower. Join us on an illuminating 60 minute walking tour through downtown Chicago's Black history and culture. On this live walking tour our local guide will bring to life the Black musicians, poets, artists, entrepreneurs, civil rights leaders and elected officials that left their mark on Chicago. We'll see monuments and memorials dedicated to poet Gwendolyn Brooks, musician Muddy Waters, civil rights activist Ida B. Wells and more. Other highlights include former jazz club sites, businesses started by African-American entrepreneurs, and locations central to the civil rights movement. We'll also view murals and public art honoring the city's influential Black architects, designers and political figures like Harold Washington, Chicago's first Black mayor. Let's come together to trace the invaluable contributions and enduring legacy of Chicago's African-American community on this not-to-be-missed tour. $133 for each additional screen (does not apply to corporate customers.) * This tour is not designed for our corporate customers.
