We'll begin in Cusco's magnificent main square, learning about the city's profound historical importance as the heart of the Inca Empire and the dramatic transformation that followed Spanish conquest. Here, you'll see how Inca and colonial architecture coexist in stunning harmony, with massive Inca stone foundations supporting elegant Spanish buildings. Our journey then takes us into the local districts near the San Pedro market, where you'll experience the everyday life of Cusco's residents far from the typical tourist trail. We'll virtually explore the traditional and colorful San Pedro market, a sensory feast where locals shop for daily necessities. Discover handicrafts created using ancient techniques, exotic local fruits and vegetables from the Sacred Valley, medicinal herbs, traditional textiles, and the rhythms of authentic Peruvian market life.
