Explore one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, the famous Machu Picchu, in its majestic, mountainous setting deep in the high jungle of Peru. Your dedicated, local guide and archaeologist will bring the city of the Incas to life for you as you visit the most important areas of this UNESCO World Heritage Site together. We will gain a deeper understanding of the ancient Inca civilization’s ingenuity and architecture as well as culture and philosophy. Our live, interactive, personal, virtual two hour walking tour will start on the highest viewpoint for the most iconic view of Machu Picchu and surrounding valley and mountains, then we will walk down to visit some of the most important temples inside the citadel. We will also be able to spot native fauna and flora in the lush landscape of the cloud forest, from orchids to llamas. Why did the Incas choose this site, hidden away in this rugged, and difficult-to-reach location? Why did it take until 1911 to be re-discovered? How did the discovery happen? And why was it named one of the new Seven Wonders of the World?
