Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - 250th Tour
Philadelphia: Founding Fathers & the Road to Independence, a PRIVATE TOUR
Service Description
Located in southeastern Pennsylvania along the Delaware River, Philadelphia sits approximately 100 miles southwest of New York City. The city experiences a humid subtropical climate with warm summers averaging 87°F (31°C) and cool winters around 41°F (5°C). Founded in 1682, Philadelphia became the cradle of American democracy and the birthplace of the United States. As the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2026, there's no better place to explore the revolutionary ideas, bold decisions, and founding documents that created a new nation than the very rooms and streets where America was born. Join us for a special 250th anniversary tour through revolutionary Philadelphia, where the ideas of liberty, self-governance, and independence transformed from dreams into reality. This journey takes you to the places where America's founders debated, drafted, and declared a new form of government that changed the world. We'll begin at the Benjamin Franklin Post Office, the oldest operating post office in the United States, where Benjamin Franklin once served as postmaster, helping shape America's early communication network. Our journey continues to Franklin Court, where the "ghost house" outline marks where Franklin's home once stood, offering a glimpse into the daily life and brilliant inventions of one of America's most remarkable founding fathers. We'll stop at Carpenters' Hall, the meeting place of the First Continental Congress in 1774, where delegates gathered to organize colonial resistance against British rule. Walking past the financial landmarks of the First Bank and Second Bank of the United States, you'll discover how the young nation built its banking system with striking neoclassical architecture that declared America's permanence and ambition. Our tour concludes at Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, iconic symbols of American freedom where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were debated and adopted. Here, in these sacred rooms, ordinary men became founders and bold ideas became the foundation of a nation. Discover the Philadelphia where independence was declared and democracy was born. $79 for each additional screen (does not apply to corporate customers.) * This tour is not designed for our corporate customers.
