Join us for an inspiring Women's History Month tour through Westminster, where we'll discover the remarkable women who fought for justice, led nations, saved lives, and changed the course of British history. From ancient warrior queens to modern icons, this tour celebrates the courage, brilliance, and determination of women whose legacies endure. We'll begin with the story of Boudicca, the native Briton warrior queen who nearly defeated the mighty Roman army in 60 AD, leading one of the most significant uprisings against imperial rule. Our journey continues to the statue of Millicent Fawcett, the suffragist who led the non-violent campaign for women's voting rights, standing proudly in Parliament Square as the first woman honored with a statue there. At Westminster Abbey, we'll learn about St. Elizabeth of Russia, one of Queen Victoria's granddaughters and one of the Abbey's "modern martyrs," who devoted her life to serving the poor. We'll visit the Women of World War II Memorial, honoring the vital contributions of over seven million women who served Britain during the war, and explore Trafalgar Square, historic site of powerful suffragette rallies that transformed a nation. Our tour includes memorials to Nurse Edith Cavell, who saved lives on both sides during World War I and paid the ultimate price, and beloved author Agatha Christie, whose brilliant mysteries captivated the world. We'll conclude with a charming piece of street art depicting Princess Diana as Mary Poppins, a playful tribute to the People's Princess.
