Washington, DC experiences four distinct seasons, and this live, virtual walking tour takes place outdoors on the historic streets of Capitol Hill. The terrain is mostly flat with some gentle inclines, sidewalks, and brick pathways typical of the neighborhood. As a 60-minute live, guided experience, you’ll be virtually exploring the area in real time with your guide, who will adjust the pace as needed and share the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of the nation’s capital as they unfold. Step into the stories of the women who shaped American history on this Women’s History Month walking tour of Capitol Hill. Beginning at the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument, the former headquarters of the National Woman’s Party, this tour traces the long fight for women’s rights and representation in the United States. From this powerful starting point, we’ll explore the surrounding area near the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, and the U.S. Capitol. Along the way, you’ll learn about the women memorialized in and around these iconic buildings and uncover contributions that have often been overlooked in traditional historical narratives.
