Let’s play a game together!

You have one week, and there’s only one rule:

You have to choose somewhere you’ve never been before.

No repeat favorites this time. 😉

Where are you going?

And I’m curious about the why too.

Is there something you’ve always wanted to see there? A family connection? Food you want to try? History you’re curious about? Or is it simply one of those places that has been sitting in the back of your mind for years?

That place would be Johannasburg, South Africa. Hubby and I are actully plannng a trip to visit there within the next year. Our reason for visiting is to discover some of the cultural heritage of our people.

What place made you want to stay just one more day?

Not necessarily your favorite trip ever.

Maybe it was a small town you expected to pass through quickly. A neighborhood you only had one afternoon to explore. A beach where you finally stopped checking the time.

Or a city where you left thinking, I definitely wasn’t finished here.

Those are sometimes the places that stick with us most.

Mine always make me wonder what I would have found with one completely unplanned extra day.

What place would you happily borrow 24 more hours in? 🌎

This one is easy - Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii, it was stunning! We loved the people, food, culture, everything was amazing!!!

I have a feeling everyone has that one photo on their phone. 😂

Not necessarily the prettiest or most Instagram-worthy photo from a trip, but the one you’d never delete because you remember exactly what was happening when you took it.

If you had to choose one travel photo to keep forever, what would it be of? 📸

Mine would probably be something completely ordinary that somehow brings the whole trip back.

And if you still have yours, I’d love to see it! ❤️

Good morning, everyone! ☀️

Quick question before the day gets away from us:

What’s something you’ve gotten better at enjoying as you’ve gotten older?

For me, I think there’s something underrated about not needing every day to be exciting. A slow morning, a good conversation, nowhere to rush off to... those things hit differently. ☕😊

Curious what yours is!!

A day of doing nothing is just as exciting, honestly. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to appreciate the quiet days more. No rushing around, no packed schedule, just having the time to relax, enjoy a good cup of coffee, watch something I like, or simply take things at my own pace. It’s funny how something that once felt boring can eventually become something you really look forward to.

Evening question for my fellow readers 📚

Have you ever read a book that made you want to visit a place you’d never really thought about visiting before?

It doesn’t even have to be a travel book. Sometimes a setting is written so well that suddenly you’re looking up flights. 😄

What book was it, and where did it make you want to go?

A little evening nostalgia for everyone. 💭

Think back to a trip you took years ago.

What’s one tiny detail you still remember surprisingly clearly?

Not necessarily the famous landmark or big moment. Maybe it’s the smell of a bakery, a conversation with a stranger, the view from your hotel window, or a song you kept hearing everywhere.

Funny what our minds decide to keep. ❤️

Isn’t it funny how the best parts of a trip are rarely the things you planned perfectly? 😄

It’s usually the café you wandered into by accident, the person you ended up talking to for an hour, the wrong turn that somehow led somewhere beautiful, or the story that was not funny when it happened but definitely is now.

Maybe life could use a little more of that too. Not everything needs an itinerary. ✈️

What’s your favorite “this was NOT part of the plan” travel memory?

Leaving this here for anyone still scrolling tonight. I want to hear the stories. 👀

It's always the local taxi drivers or the restaurant waiters / waitresses changed my travel plan. 😀

Today is September 11th

I snatched this picture last night in Manhattan during my travel there. I have visited the site many times. Today when I looked at this photo, I felt more somber for me. Where were you at on September 11th?

There’s something about being in a place with so much history that can make you stop and reflect, especially on a day like September 11th. Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤️

I’m sure many of us remember where we were that day. For anyone who feels comfortable sharing, I’d love to hear your memories too.

I caught myself thinking about places I’d love to disappear to for a few days. 😄

If someone handed you a ticket right now and said, “Pack a bag, we’re leaving tomorrow,” where would you hope the ticket was taking you? ✈️

It can be somewhere you’ve never been, somewhere you’d love to return to, or even somewhere close to home.

I’m curious where everyone would end up! 🌎
