It can be somewhere you’ve never been, somewhere you’d love to return to, or even somewhere close to home.

For me that place might be Madrid Spain. I visited in the fall of last year but only got to spend 1 1/2 days there. We flew over to board a cruise from Barcelona. We had the pleasure of spending 4 days in Spain before boarding the ship, so we had plenty time to visit food markets, go on a private car tour around the city of Barcelona, tour La Sagrada Familia and walk up and down Las Ramblas.
After the cruise we returned to Barcelona and caught a high-rail train with 2 friends to Madrid. I made the mistake of book a RT airline ticket to and from Barcelona i/o purchasing a one-way ticket to Barcelona and a one-way return ticket from Madrid. I wanted to make the most of our short time in Madrid so I booked an all day bus excursion from Madrid visiting Toledo, Segovia and Avila.
I definitely have Madrid on my bucket list to return one day. It reminded me a lot of my birthplace of NYC with the bright lights, the crowds and the shopping.
