I’ve been thinking about how strange it is that a place can still surprise you even when you’re experiencing it virtuall
Sometimes it’s not the landmark itself that sticks with you. It’s something tiny in the background. A side street. A market stall. A local story you weren’t expecting to hear.
Have you ever done a virtual tour where one small detail ended up being the part you remembered most?
I’d love to hear what it was. Sometimes those little moments are what make a place feel real. 🌍

All of the time!! One still makes me laugh as I think about it. We were on a tour in Barcelona, and the guide was explaining about a fake gothic bridge, and about how it had been cursed by the builder (who was not paid for his work by the city). Travelers must walk under the bridge backwards or winking their eye as they pass under to avoid being cursed. The guide was standing on the other side of the bridge watching unknowing travelers pass under the bridge and calling out - boom - cursed!; boom - cursed!; boom - cursed! 🤪🤣
